Nulight Studios has been presented with a Royal Television Society Award for the enhancement of night footage on the Apple TV series Earth at Night In Color.
The announcement took place at the 2021 RTS West of England Awards ceremony at Bristol Old Vic.
The award for grading is shared with Colourist Adam Inglis and Tom Payne, Head of Development at Offspring Films who made the groundbreaking new series.
Earth at Night In Color was the first natural history series to be filmed exclusively at night, in total darkness, using light sensitive cameras. Nulight worked closely with the team at Offspring to take the resulting grainy footage and apply noise reduction and further image enhancements to reveal the same detail as film shot in daylight.
Earth at Night in Color was also awarded best Natural History Documentary as well as best Cinematography during the RTS ceremony.
