Nulight was approached by Tigress Films to scan and restore archive film for a new series to be broadcast on the National Geographic Channel.
The series, called Secrets in the Mist, tells the story of the life, work, murder and legacy of gorilla researcher Dian Fossey, using excerpts of her own diary read by Sigourney Weaver.
Much of the film was shot on 8mm and 16mm colour reversal by students of Dian Fossey or visiting cameramen. Much of the film had faded or become discoloured with age and so after scanning required digital restoration.
Speaking after release of the series, Sarah Peat, Executive producer on the series, said:
